About Chelti
The history of Chelti Winery
The history of Chelti Winery can be traced back to the last century, when in the depth of the Kakheti region, in the village of Shilda, the ancestors of the Mirianashvili family built their first wine cellar. The family tradition was revived in 2001 with the initiative of Giorgi Mirianashvili, the founder and CEO of the Chelti Winery Company, who expanded on the already existing household cellars and vineyards. The total space of the territory now amounts to 80 hectares and includes vineyards, traditional Georgian (Qveri) and Classic (oak & steel) cellars, an underground wine warehouse and a tourist complex
Production and Manufacturing
The fact that the vineyards and the production are located in the same area allows the winery to run more smoothly and execute greater control over both the picking and processing of the grapes.
As mentioned, due to the fact that the production includes both Georgia and European-style wine production, modern equipment as well as traditional Qvevri are used.
The underground wine warehouse located in the cellars of the Chelti winery goes 7 metres deep and naturally maintains the temperature of 14-17° C throughout the year, an ideal condition for storing and aging wine.
Each year, the Chelti Winery adds several thousand new bottles to the cellar, with up to 150,000 more premium bottle of wine already in the aging process.
Today, the Chelti Winery brand is well known in over 20 countries, including
